About Windows SharePoint Services

Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) allows you and your staff to collaborate and centrally store information via the web. You get a customisable intranet web site where you can store Office documents, share contact lists, calendars, announcements, run wikis and blogs, and more. The latest version of Windows SharePoint Services (WSS 3.0) has improved functionality, new templates, and enhanced security.

SharePoint Anywhere

Running Windows SharePoint Services in-house can be costly and time-consuming. With SharePoint Anywhere all the hard work is done for you. There’s no costs associated with the initial setup and deployment, ongoing user management, database management and backups – we take care of the administration for you!

With SharePoint Anywhere, you can connect to your information from wherever you are – as long as you’ve got a connection to the internet you can remain productive with the same documents and information you’d have access to in your office.

Security

There are two types of users within SharePoint:

• Owners
  The “admin” user owns the SharePoint site and can install applications, change the template, and alter settings.
• Contributors
  Normal users of the site can view, add, update and delete information.

Unlike other Hosted SharePoint services - you get your own “admin” user so you can edit the site and alter settings as you need too. You can also upload plugins to the site downloaded from either Microsoft of 3rd parties. Only users within your group can access your SharePoint site, no public users will have access to your information.

Personalised Domain

You get your own personalised sub-domain (up to 8 characters) with SharePoint Anywhere which you can easily bookmark or set as your home page.

For instance, if your company was called Acme Systems – your domain name for SharePoint Anywhere could be http://acmesys.tvcsharepoint.com

SharePoint + Outlook Anywhere
